Reid Windle – Photographs Female Form

December 14, 2010 Leave a comment

New update from OneModelPlace.com – a photographer that doesn’t focus mainly on his major work but explores more of it, Reid Windle of Sunshine and Satin Photography (OMP Member #154356) started doing film photography in 1973 and switched to digital in 2005. Soon afterwards, he joined OneModelPlace.com, and has been shooting beautiful women steadily ever since.

The Florida resident has discovered an array of amazing female models since he’s been on the site. “OMP has helped me in so many ways. In addition to finding models — which is my primary purpose for being a member — OMP has been the most important networking tool I have. The associations I’ve made through the site have enabled me to contact experienced members of the industry. As a result, I have formed some of my closest friendships.”

Reid relates that he has viewed thousands of profiles and studied countless images on OneModelPlace.com. “I have worked with some of the most accomplished models and photographers on the site – several have become OMP Featured Members. Also, I view the New Models and Updated Models columns on the OMP Home page daily. I regularly make comments, image comments and send referrals to models all across the US and the world.”

One successful shoot was arranged in February 2007 with Jenni from the Czech Republic (OMP Model #265348). “I contacted her and said, ‘If you ever come to America…’ and voila! I did one of her first photo shoots in the U.S. That shoot resulted in my first four OMP Showcases, which motivated me to make OneModelPlace.com my primary online portfolio.”
Reid got his start photographing local high school sporting events. “My best friend was news editor for the Orlando Sentinel bureau here in Melbourne. Soon my images were being published more than his! I have a love for, and talent for, catching live sports action.”

He prefers shooting outdoors in natural light. “Because of the schedules of the young ladies I work with, these shoots usually take place in the late afternoon. But occasionally I find someone that I can rely on to get up and out there before sunrise.Sunrise shoots are my favorites. And there are so many different possibilities when doing shoots outside. I know many locations, and I really like scouting around for new places. There is an art to placing a model into a scene to compose a beautiful image. The variety of beautiful images that can be created outdoors is endless.”

Portrait of A Model/Musician – Jillian Ann

December 1, 2010 Leave a comment

Coming, ready or not! – is excited about the new updates of Models from OneModelPlace which featured Jillian Ann (OMP Model #1874) as reported by OneModelPlace.com, Jillian Ann has been a major force on the creative scene for the past 10 years, making her living solely from being a model as well as a musician.

OMP: How did you get your start as a model?

Jillian Ann: I modeled as a child, and then got scouted in Atlanta by one of the bigger print agencies. I worked with them for awhile doing the usual commercial work. It was great but not really that interesting to me. So as I got to know more and more people I discovered that I liked working directly with photographers and clients who were doing cool under-the-commercial-radar kind of work, and realized that most of them were online. So I started using the internet to contact photographers and clients directly.

I found I was able to book more work quickly for myself than my agent was. Also, I was booking jobs nationally not just in Atlanta. I subsequently discovered OneModelPlace.com which made the task of finding new people to work with much easier. In the ensuing years I learned how to live and work on photos, music and art anywhere there was an opportunity to do so.  I continued to work with the agencies but I was no longer dependent on them and as my reputation grew I no longer had to go to castings and more agents wanted to work with me which was irony since they got to know me from jobs I had gotten on my own.  The be fair, the agencies have gotten me many of my larger clients and high paying jobs, but they became interested in me because of the more creative work I was doing.
I worked very hard to learn all aspects of my craft and ended up knowing a lot about styling, make up, graphics, logistics and that, combined with a strong and up to date portfolio has kept me working constantly .  I am even called by artists to help style their shoots and cast talent for their projects.  It has been quite an evolution.

OMP: How did you discover One Model Place?

Jillian Ann: Someone invited me and then all of the sudden the light bulb went off in my head, “I can use this to go anywhere and work anywhere!” I was always doing music either performing or recording all over so I work it out so I could do the music  and model on the off days. Often times I would be  a city for a few days for a show or to record and so I would use OMP to contact clients and photographers to let them know I would be there and see if they wanted to shoot.
It has always worked and continues to, and has been an amazing way to make new connections and friends all over the world.

OMP: How do you think OMP has helped your career?

Jillian Ann: OMP is the easiest to use data base I have found so far to connect to photographers and potential clients. Because of the search  capacities I could narrow down my search to exactly who I was looking for.  The visibility the connections that have come through it have been life changing. Many of the people who have really helped me move ahead in my career I met on here or through someone I knew on here. OMP has greatly helped me and has given me hundreds if not thousands of doors all over the world through which I can walk.

Oprah’s Favorite Things 2010 List

November 25, 2010 Leave a comment

People all over the world have been waiting for this, so with the models and fashion experts from OneModelPlace.com. As reported by fashionista.com Oprah‘s final “Favorite Things” episode aired this past week. If you haven’t watched the crowd reactions already, everyone went nuts. Of course, if I was being gifted a 2012 Volkswagon Beetle, an iPad, and some Le Creuset cookware, I’d be doing a happy dance too.

Having your product on Oprah‘s “Favorite Things” things list is akin to having your book chosen for her book club–meaning it will sell. And often, Oprah’s favorite stuff is beauty and fashion-related (but the fashion tends to be on the comfort-end–nothing wrong with that). Previously Oprah-endorsed favorite things like Spanx and Uggs became ubiquitous best-sellers after earning a spot on the “Favorite Things” list, according to AOL’s Small Business site. Her “Favorite Things” episode has even saved some companies from the brink of bankruptcy.

Anthony’s Art World – A Travelling Photographer

November 19, 2010 Leave a comment

Photos by Anthony’s Art World

Traveling from different place is a great opportunity for a photographer to make his work go beyond his box, it’s like opening another channel for him to go in. Here’s one example from OneModelPlace.com, an update from blog.onemodelplace.com

Anthony of Anthony’s Art World (OMP Member #218679) is celebrating his third-year anniversary of being a professional photographer. He began taking it seriously after a friend and fellow OMP member saw some of Anthony’s landscape and wildlife images. “He asked me why I wasn’t shooting with models and I was like, ‘I am not sure!” So I joined OMP and it’s been a wonderful ride since then.”

OneModelPlace.com has helped the Alabama resident and frequent traveler in many ways. “OMP has helped me tremendously, especially being able to promote my trips through the use of travel notices. It is an outstanding source for finding models and photographers who are interested in furthering their careers. The publicity I get from OMP far surpasses the publicity I get from any other site.”

His favorite styles of shooting are portraits and headshots. “But I am striving to be able to do a little bit of everything. I want to be able to say, ‘Yes I can do this,’ if a client comes asking for a specific style. It would be great to show them some of my work in a variety of styles.”
